Frequently Asked Questions About Hands and Feet Moulds
Q. Where are the moulds taken?
A. Due to the equipment required, it is preferable that you come to us. However, in some special circumstances we can take the moulds at your home or a local hospital (depending on location and circumstances, please see our 'Angels' page for more details).
Q. Will the moulding process harm my child?
A. No. We use a medical standard moulding compound that is safe to use on newborn babies. We have even used it on our own son many times. Some children may get a little upset during the process but this is normally because the mould feels cold. It is in no way painful or harmful. We are happy to supply a full data sheet on the moulding compound if you request it.
Q. How long does the moulding process take?
A. The child is only required to place their hand or foot in the mould for about 1 minute. The entire process takes about 30 minutes, including mould taking and choosing designs.
Q. How long does it take for the package to be completed?
A. Depending on which package you choose, how busy we are and the availability of supplies, it normally takes 4 to 6 weeks. However, it may take a longer at certain times of the year such as Christmas, Mothers day, Fathers day and Easter.

Name Stenciling's
We can now do name stenciling in the frame mats! This can be done on a 11" x 21" frame with a photo and plaque.
Simply add $20.00 to the price of the 11" x 21" with photo range.
Mini Wood Bases
These include a single hand or foot casting and a plaque, mounted on a 130mm by 180mm pine base.
A great idea for Christmas presents, or gifts for the grandparents.
$40.00 each.
Or, 2 for $75.00, 3 for $105.00 or 4 for $130.00.
We also provide sets of stand alone hand and feet moulds. These are sold as a set of 4 moulds (2 hands and 2 feet) and are sanded, painted gold or silver and are ready for mounting. These cost $50.00 for a set, which includes a mould taking session.

Prices include:
- Mould taking and frame selection/layout session.
- Engraved name plate or decorations and lettering.
- Completed casts.
- Frame, glass and frame mats.
- All fully assembled ready for hanging.
All prices are in Australian Dollars and are inclusive of GST.
Extra engraved name plates can be added for $10.00 each (inc GST).
For frames that include a photo provision, you need to supply your own photo which must be a standard 5" x 7" size.
Please note that the age recommendations are used as a rough guide only. In some circumstances, the suggested arrangements may not fit depending on the size of the child's hands/feet. This can be determined during the initial appointment.
If you would like the frame to match one that you had made for another sibling, please feel free to bring it or a photo of it with you to your initial appointment and we will see if we can create a close match to the design.
